Mar Sargis Assyrian Church of the East Bible and Language School Mission Statement
Our mission at the Mar Sargis Assyrian Church of the East Bible and Language school on Fridays is to create a deep understanding and appreciation for the Bible by teaching students how to apply its lessons in their daily lives. We also value the importance of preserving the Assyrian language and history. We want students to practice speaking, reading and writing in Assyrian to keep the language alive. By incorporating the teachings of the Bible along with incorporating Assyrian culture, we instill a sense of pride and connection to our cultural roots and empower individuals to deepen their faith.
On Sundays, children actively engage in the Holy Mass up to the reading of the Gospel. Afterwards, they transition to the classroom where they explore the Gospel message and its importance to their everyday experiences. Additionally, we educate students on the liturgical aspects of the Mass and on the prayers and hymns specific to the Assyrian Church of the East.
At the Mar Sargis Assyrian Church of the East Bible and Language School, we're not just a school—we're a family. As students grow with us, we also prepare them for the next step: joining the youth program. Here, they'll have the chance to become leaders and role models for younger generations. We want to empower them to share their knowledge and faith with others, helping to create a strong community that lasts for years to come.
